Founded in 1905 by Charles Beckman, Red Wing are an all time American classic.
Since its inception, the milestones have been many. The creation of the 877 Moc Toe in 1952 being the one most will be readily aware of. The boot going on to become an all time classic which is emulated by many but never bettered. Lesser known will be their the acquisition of S.B. Foot Tanning Company in 1987 which means that they use their own tanned leathers on their Heritage line boots.
Red Wing boots and shoes have a reputation for being some of the most hard wearing and easy to look after boots around, a reputation that is well founded. Using their own leathers, the uppers will take all you can throw at them and come back looking great with just a little care. The use of a Goodyear Welt means that those tough uppers will stay fixed to the sole through it all but also that you will be able to replace the sole unit when the time eventually comes.
Along with creating so many of the boots worn by the workers of the USA in their various industries, all designed for that industry uniquely, they have been worn by the great, good and bad in film. Jack Nicholson wore a pair of the 877 boot in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, for instance, more recently the character Chris in Get Out wore the 8111 boot. Steve McQueen was a huge fan of the 877 and could be seen wearing them off screen innumerable times.
Along with our range of Red Wing boots and shoes we also have a selection of their accessories. From the wallets and gloves made using their own leathers to the knitted socks and hats that work so well with their boots and on to those little things you need to keep your boots looking as good as you want them to, the oils, cleaners and protectors.
Having provided footwear for so many of the industries and workers of America (their postman shoe is close to being as seminal as the Moc Toe), a pair of Red Wing boots or shoes are built with the kind of experience few can come close to in a lifetime.
