With a history going back to 1774 and Johan Adam Birkenstock, the brand carrying the family name have become a byword for ethically produced, comfort in footwear.
Originally designed, and worn, as footwear to help relieve and prevent issues with feet that develop from the daily pressures Birkenstock were most commonly found in the Pharmacies and Chemists around their native land. This in turn led to the take up of their use in professions who are on their feet all day.  This can be seen today in their professional line which caters to the need of medical professionals of all types not to mention them becoming the footwear of choice for many of the worlds top chefs.
Adopted by various sub cultures over the years from the hippies in the sixties and many more over time, they have established themselves beyond fashion and trends. By maintaining the core line of classic sandals, clogs and shoes they have maintained a devoted following who will only ever wear their particular footwear of choice at any given time. Having sold them for many years now we have lost count of the number of people coming to us for a replacement pair of the beloved Arizona or the like, worn to the point of disintegration out of commitment to their comfort and style.

Still made in Germany and still using their famous cork midsole their range has grown beyond the sandal base and now covers shoes and boots.
